WE ARE ISLANDS NOW: TO be ALONE for a while TO VALUATE TOGETHER
During the interactive installation We Are Islands Now you float away in a boat while listening to a story about human islands. After we had great success with this at the Van Gogh Museum and at the Duizel festival, we launched our boat again. This time in the water of Tiengemeten during Het Laatste Eiland festival. More than 60 people floated away on this beautiful day. After the special boat trip, participants, strangers to each other, wrote a message on a postcard. THE SECRET PARK DISCLOSES THE MYSTERIES OF THE PARK, THE DISTRICT AND THE RESIDENTS
A winner was chosen on the last day. After the award ceremony, all the secrets were removed from the tree and with a final ritual, where 1 was symbolically buried, the secrets became secret again.
In addition, you could also get to know the park by exploring the park with a map. And at the inverted confessional listening to secrets from the neighborhood recited by actresses.

For the Rotterdam festival 'Duizel in het Park' we have devised a participation project with the name Het Geheime Park.
It consisted of three different parts; a treasure hunt through the park that showed all the special places, a reversed confessional where you could secretly listen to secrets told live by actresses and the viewing boxes where everyone could leave their secrets and watch those of others.
There was a competition attached to the viewing boxes, the most beautiful has won a great prize. A few weeks before the festival the showcases were distributed throughout the neighborhood. At the supermarket and other tradespeople, at vocational schools and schools and to artists in the area, asking to write or craft a secret and take the viewing box to the park during the Duizel in the Park festival. Crafts could also be done during the festival.

NIGHT IN NORTH: FROM EIGHT TO EIGHT CULTURE IN ROTTERDAM NORTH
The last event of the Powerlab Noord Series had the theme of Culture. Because there is less to do in the evening in Rotterdam Noord, we decided to investigate the night and came up with the Night in North.
You could experience culture from eight in the evening to eight in the morning. It was a broad program with various components. There were midget shuffle bins, a night cinema and a ukulele workshop. To stay awake there was the coffee lab and a soup lab night snack. Routes had been mapped out through the neighborhood with music performances and performances at special locations. There was dancing in the disco and you could visit the mini hotel of ANI & HAKIN. In the morning, after meditation, breakfast was served at sunrise.

AFTERNOON IN THE PARK: PICNIC, ENJOY MUSIC / GAME / CULTURE AND AT THE SAME TIME GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Museum Rotterdam started a participation project in 2011. During this project, caregivers, among others, were linked to designers / artists. Together they looked at how they could make the work of caregivers easier and thought about ideas that could be applicable to several people.
Bas Kortmann was linked to Nellie who has a spastic son, Ferry. Her mother is in a wheelchair. During the conversations to find out what Bas could do for her, there appeared to be a great need to have more contact with her neighbors.
We then thought of organizing a neighborhood picnic. A small festival where creative people from the neighborhood gave workshops and Powerboat provided the decoration, music, games and publicity. There were midget shuffleboards, chair hockey (especially for Ferry) and a photo domino was made where local residents took pictures with each other.
It was a big success! The following year, the local residents organized a picnic together. Powerboat has also applied this concept in Oosterflank.

we are islands now: TO BE ALONE FOR A WHILE TO VALUATE TOGETHER
ISLANDS Solitude is the largest, only remaining taboo. In the meantime, everyone feels abandoned in these fast times and in our big city. In fact, in the city you sometimes want to escape the crowds and retreat for a little rest. This project is about how we sometimes behave like islands. "Islands" is based on the English expression: "no man is an island".
About 18 extremes: feeling lonely or just wanting to be alone, 18 residents and professionals in Noord spoke with each other, came up with ideas and wrote together. These stories and ideas are presented on Duizel. The visitors of Duizel have been able to add something to this at the ISLAND LOKET in exchange for a cup of tea, or to lie on a boat to an island, just to be alone there.

AFTERNOON AT THE OOSTERFLANK PARK: FESTIVAL OF THE HOUSE OF OOsterflank
Especially for everyone in Oosterflank and the surrounding area there was a neighborhood picnic in the Semiramis garden on September 14, 2014. Many people brought something tasty to eat and drink with them. What a beautiful day it was! Nice weather, nice workshops, nice music and games for young and old. There were between 200 and 250 visitors, 30 jugs of coffee, 150 sandwiches, 26 volunteers and staff, 22 ˚C, and a wonderful sun in a beautiful park!
In 2015 Een Middag in Oosterflank took place during the national office day. The day was then expanded with a tour of the neighborhood.
